Monumental Marble Table , c.1770 (SOLD)
A large scale oak table with a Fior di Persico marble top.
Originally, this would have been a chateaux hunting table for game to be brought in on post hunt. Now, it would make a statement console or hall table.
An 18th century piece of marble of this quality and size is a rare find, especially with no damage or repair. The marble has both a bevelled too and chamfered underside.
Fior di Persico is a rare marble which has been used since Ancient Roman times, sourced from Seravezza in Lucca, Tuscany.
Please note: this item will require a 4 person delivery team.
